eduKayt's Tip of the Day 6/22/10: Vent This

Now that it's officially summer, I'm sure you've turned the fucking air conditioning on at least once. Getting the most out of your air conditioning can save you benjamins!

1) If you're gone during the day, turn the AC off or up to 85 degrees. Then you can just turn it back on when you come home, bitch. Fido doesn't need to be chilling on your sofa in 68 degrees.

2) Keep your damn curtains closed. This will keep out the sunlight which creates HEAT. Your air conditioner will have to work less to cool the place down.

3) If there are rooms you're not in or don't use (or the basement), close off the vents in those rooms. Then the AC can blow more cool air into the other rooms, like your fucking living room!

eduKayt's Tip of the Day 6/2/10: Filter Change

Summer is around the fucking corner and that means you'll have your AC on all day long. If you don't want to breathe in all that shit flying around your house, it's time to change your air filter. Whip out your measuring tape and make sure you get the right size. Then go out to your local hardware store and grab a new one. You can be smart and get a 2 pack of filters cause come the winter, you'll need to change it again.
